Happy 2016 from Redwood Audio!

Happy New Year!!  We hope you are busy playing, tinkering or designing away!  This last year was a busy one for us, something we hope to continue for this go round.  We made new friends and partners,  released a new plugin and started a series of donationware-based design tools.  The new plugin was made by contract with Chango Studios and packs an entire vocal effect chain into a single plugin suite for VST, VST3, AU and RTAS!  You can see the Chango Vocal Suite below (links to YouTube).

Looking forward, we plan to roll out some updates to our plugin tutorial covering the new JUCE 4.x framework and Projucer.  But we also have a few surprises underway – so please check back and see what comes in 2016!  Or feel free to reach out and contact us!

JUCE Meet-Ups!

ROLI Logo @ ROLI Ltd. Greetings to all our old and the new friends we have met this year!  At the end of last year, ROLI Ltd. acquired the JUCE framework from Raw Material Software Ltd. and in doing so took on the creator Jules Storer as head of software architecture.  You can read about the acquisition here.  As part of the kick-off, they launched a new build of JUCE and hosted a series of JUCE Meet-ups.  We had the pleasure of meeting the JUCE team and many of the Bay Area users there.  It seems the JUCE framework will continue to grow in positive directions and remains our recommended method of plugin development for hobbyists and professionals alike.

As such, we have updated our tutorial with the changes to the new project screen, and will be continuing updates as the framework continues to evolve under ROLI and Jules’ guidance.  If you do find something out of date or have additional questions, please do contact us and let us know! Happy Coding!

It was Great to Meet You!

Redwood Audio Logo We are settling back in after an exciting trip to the AES 137th convention this month in LA…  There was a full house for the live tutorial session – not bad for the opening day!  Edward was pleased to meet with many of you throughout the rest of the convention.  If we somehow missed connection or you had follow-up questions or feedback on the presentation, we would of course love to hear from you!  Just send a short note through the contact link and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Of the many exciting developments, we are pleased to announce that we are collaborating with Stonebridge Mastering to further expand our tutorial/DIY development materials in book form.  We are also in final stages of consulting for Chango Studios on a Vocal Suite plugin (which may help explain some of the radio silence the last few months).  We look forward to making formal release announcements as those and some of our own projects materialize in the very near future!
