Plugin Tutorial Live!

AES 137th International ConventionThank you so much for your continued interest and support in our tutorial on plugin development with JUCE!  We are pleased to announce that the primary author, Edward Stein, has been asked to present an expanded version of the content as part of the DTS, Inc. delegation to the AES 137th International Convention in Los Angeles.  The talk will focus on good practice for rapid prototyping and debugging of audio DSP algorithms for beginners.  It will cover the basics of JUCE-based VSTs/AudioUnits –  including: project setup and configuration, exposing control parameters, custom GUI, and a few useful advanced features such as incorporating MIDI control or tempo matching to the host, etc.

We hope to see you there in LA!  If you have topics you would like to see covered, or have other general inquiries for Redwood Audio – please, feel free to Contact Us and we will see what we can do!

Full Service Plugin Development!

AAX PluginsRedwood Audio is proud to announce additional new directions in plugin development!  We have been flooded with interest in various projects – so much so, it will be hard to keep up with our own development cycles!  However, that’s a good thing and we are excited to now be working with studio partners on plugins for commercial release.  As part of that work, we have become a fully licensed JUCE development house and joined the official Avid development community to enable our production of AAX and RTAS plugins.   This means we are now set to develop plugins for all the major hosts!

We have also started work to co-author a book on audio plugin development and audio DSP  – it will take what we started with our JUCE tutorial and greatly expand the ideas of good practice for prototyping your ideas, development and debugging of audio plugins.

AudioUnits Are Go!

IntroJucer in XCodeAs mentioned in an earlier news post, we have been able to accelerate our cross-platform development thanks to a generous donation of a MacBook Pro.  We have taken that opportunity to add XCode and OSX support to our JUCE Tutorial.  It now provides the needed steps for configuring an install of Xcode under OSX Mavericks – including both the current VST 2.x / 3.x as well as Audio Units (AU) plug-ins!  Thank you for your continued interest and support – feel free to drop us a line if there are other issues you would like to see sorted out in our tutorial.

In related news, Redwood Audio has joined the ranks of Commercial JUCE Developers. This will allow us to better serve some of our clients interests as well as provide new opportunities  for our own wares.  If you have projects you churning in your mind, or feedback for Redwood Audio we would be interested in hearing from you.
